Description

An underlying principle of therapeutic life story work is to help a child to understand and process their life histories and the decisions made about them. As part of this work we commonly teach children about issues such as neglect, substance abuse or domestic violence to help them understand why people made decisions about them. However, sexual abuse is often ignored or glossed over in life story work. This webinar considers how children whose lives have been affected by sexual abuse (either directly or indirectly), might need help to understand more about sexual abuse in order to process and understand the decisions made about them. This workshop aims to help you consider sexual abuse issues to your wider life story work.

Please Note:

• This workshop is an abridged version of a module taught on the TLSW Diploma so might repeat info given to those attending the Diploma
• The workshops focuses on adult to child sexual abuse. It does not cover peer-to- peer abuse or sibling sexual behaviour, which is the topic of a separate workshop

Requirements

  • Computer, tablet or smartphone to view live tuition via Zoom.
