Richard is a regular visitor to Australia where he is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Social Work and Social Policy at La Trobe University, Melbourne, and Honorary Associate of Berry Street, Melbourne. He also presents internationally on complex case and trauma intervention in countries including the USA, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Czechia and New Zealand.

He has written several books and chapters around Therapeutic Life Story Work

His latest book ‘Communicating with Traumatised Children and Teens’ will be available from February 2025. His other books include The Child’s Own Story – Life Story Work with Traumatised Children (2004); Life Story Therapy with Traumatised Children – A Model for Practice (2012) and Innovative Therapeutic Life Story Work (2017).

Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Life Story Work

TLSW (Rose Model) will benefit those working with traumatised children and young people, including those working in child protection, youth justice, family support, counselling, therapy, education, early years, social work and psychology. After successfully completing the Diploma course, students will be awarded the protected title of 'Certified Practitioner' a protected title. The course is delivered by Richard Rose and guest facilitators, please refer to the handbook for more details.
