About THEIA Academy

Sharing Knowledge and Best Practice

THEiA has been created to provide a balance between the training opportunities for professionals developing their knowledge and skills and supporting those that provide direct care to children and families. It’s founder, Professor Richard Rose and his business lead (Nicola Ball) and academic lead (Karla Burley) are three of the many professionals that are being brought together to provide the best level of learning development across the trauma, health and education provision.

About the Care Excellence Programme

Learn About THEiA Academy’s gift to the most important providers of safety and recovery to hurt children and young people – the CEP.

It is a reality that training for all carers has continued to be a challenge, and approaches vary as to quality and content, and so impact on the positives of care provision (especially as we understand more and more about the impact of early life trauma). To this end, Professor Richard Rose decided to set up a Care Excellence Programme (CEP) for all carers (Kinship, Connected, Residential Carers (not senior or management), Foster Carers, Adopters and Guardians. This programme is now available in the UK and Ireland, from May 2025 it will start in Australasia and the United States and aims to train 48000 carers in 10 years. The CEP is fully funded by the activities of THEiA and TLSWi, so no carer will have to pay for the course and so, no lottery, just an opportunity to spend 5 days with skilled trainers to learn about 5 areas of excellence.
