Hannah is a dedicated and experienced therapeutic social worker, senior manager, consultant and trainer. She qualified as a social worker 21 years ago after working as a support worker in a children’s home. She has a keen interest and strong background in implementing research into practice and using innovation to implement social work theories. She set up an innovative local authority team working with young people aged 10 to 25 years old who were experiencing contextual safeguarding risks and exploitation. The team were proud to have won the 2022 MJ Award for ‘Innovation in Children’s and Adults Services’. Hannah is passionate about working in a trauma informed way with children and young people, including where children and young adults face risks outside of the home.
Hannah has significant experience of directly working with children, young people and young adults as well as providing strategic management of children’s services. She is passionate about supporting people to create meaningful change in their lives and adopting a strengths-based approach.
She currently works as a Therapeutic Life Story Practitioner alongside completing consultancy work with local authorities and private children’s home providers, as well as completing safeguarding investigations. Hannah is also trained with SILP as a lead reviewer for Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews.
